We certainly like to have our childish fun around here.  Giggling like school girls at chick's panties, celeb nipple slips and of course Brit Brit's crotch shot but there's more to us than that.  Not a lot more mind you...but just enough to give thought, time and money to some of our World's biggest humanitarian crises.  Here are just 2 of them...

Somalia: The violence in Somalia escalated this year to some of the worst levels in over 15 years, causing an unknown number of civilian casualties and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people from the capital. Many of those remaining in Mogadishu are staying in makeshift camps with little more than ripped cloth and plastic sheeting for shelter and are exposed to a high degree of violence.

Congo: More than a year after the first democratic elections in decades, fighting between armed groups continues in North Kivu, DRC. Under constant threat of attack, hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes this year; many have been displaced multiple times. Living in the most reduced of circumstances, people in this region are vulnerable to easily treatable diseases and conditions, such as malnutrition, malaria, and cholera. The rate of sexual violence is alarmingly high.

So this coming new year, do what you can to raise awareness and maybe some money for people who are much less fortunate than you or I.  And who knows, you may even feel good about yourself.
