Godaddy, Support Issues, WeDo
The 6 of you who read this site may have noticed the lag in speed over the last week.  Well, I'm happy to say, we've finally solved the issue.

Last year, being the cheap Dutch bastard that I am, I wanted to save a bit of money and decided to host speedmonkey.net with godaddy.com.  So, I moved from the North where I was at wedohosting.com to Arizona, home of Godaddy.

Sure enough a year later, tail between my legs, I went crawling back to my Canadian friends asking them to take me back.  And like true Canadians, they did...at a 10% cost increase...a bag of weed, and a case of Molson.

But really, when I had initially made the move it was to save of bit of cash.  And the one thing I've learned is, there is no saving cash.  You spend cash.  So you can choose to spend it wisely or foolishly.  I opted for the latter and went with godaddy.com at $14/mo. for 1000GB of traffic.  Awesome right?  Not really.

They may offer you 1000GB of monthly traffic, but in order to even get close to that bandwidth, your website actually has to be up and running.  Properly.  Not take 20 seconds to connect to the database.

Also, (what you think I'd be finished) Godaddy.com has no (800) number.  The call is on your dime.  So when their servers slow down or your site isn't even being displayed and your site losses traffic, you have to pay for the call. And wait, and wait. They escalate your call to their senior tech staff, who don't seem very smart because they don't know how long '24-48 hours' is.  So when they say they'll get back to you in '24-48' hours, they really mean, they'll get back to you when you call them back.

The simple reason they don't have an (800) number is because they couldn't possibly afford to pay for all the support calls and stay profitable.

So the $14/mo you think you are paying, after all the phone calls and loss in traffic it comes out to about 6 billion a month.  So don't be fooled by girls with big tits, promising a cheap solution, pay the extra cash and enjoy some full service.  Everyone deserves a happy ending.
