My Email to the Attorney's Office:

I just keep reading over your retarded Pit Bull Ordinance.. especially the history of attacks that took place in the mid 80's. Now while all of that is mortifying and tragic, I just can't help but think of all the Blacks and Hispanics out there killing and raping people. Can we maybe put a ban on them? Is there a law against Human Breed Specific ban? What about the Klebold law. Maybe white teens should be banned?

Why not exhaust all humane possibilities before seeing such a Hitler type resolution. Are you people that stunted, or arrested that you can't think of any other solution than, 'KILL THEM ALL'

The city of Denver sued and In December 2004, Denver District Court Judge Martin F. Egelhoff issued a ruling that the state law violated Denver’s home rule authority under the Colorado state constitution. Egelhoff ruled that the state could not impose such limitations on Denver.

How proud you must be Denver, you sued your own State.  Why not ban all Blacks and Hispanics.. aren't they responsible for most of the crime in America?

The attic isn't just for hiding Jews anymore; if you live in Denver, chances are you'll be trying to hide your dogs there too.

Are pitbulls dangerous? Sure they can be.. but so too can humans - that doesn't mean we should go around killing them.

I know, let's ban automobiles because people drive them when they're drunk, when they're eating, talking on their phucking cell phones... putting on make-up.. You ever put on make-up while driving Rosemary? Ever chat on your cell phone behind the wheel? Careful you might injure someone and then you'll have to ban yourself from driving. I know, I know.. I sound silly... banning cars just because a few people can't drive... how.. I dunno, ignorant of me...

If you're a City Councilwoman and your name happens to be Rosemary Rodriguez - then you'd find no problem upholding Denver's pitbull ban.. EVEN THOUGH statistically speaking, Labrador Retrievers and Cocker Spaniels are higher up on the 'dog biting' list.

Rosemary Rodriguez: "I personally feel, based on the information I have today, the ban should stay in place."

Where are you getting your information from? Your hair salon? The coffee shop, your neighbor? Stop listening to public opinion and read a little so you don't sound so clueless.

And while Prof. Jeffrey Miller barely escaped with his life after he was chased and attacked by 2 pitbulls, he's still a bit of an alarmist for saying, "No one is safe from these dogs." Dude, you're a professor... and you have no problem making such general statements?  I feel sorry for your students.

So it appears that we are entering an era that I had hoped long passed.. an era where we play God and decide what lives, and what dies... regardless of its history.

What this law is doing, is opening the flood gates for more laws and more bans... don't like Hamsters... kill 'em all... Dobermans.. gas the phuckers...

It's a great society we live in when our lawmakers can't come up with anything more creative than 'kill 'em all'

That a society, without so much as testing different theories and or practices before they decide to outright kill them all is a staggering thought. They haven't even tried to impose other regulations - and now of course, other cities across America are implementing this embarrassing law without even determining its success' or failures.

In Ontario Canada, Pitbulls are banned, but if you have one, they don't come take it away and give you some asinine ultimatum. Instead, they have passed a law that when you walk your pitbull, it must be muzzled. Stupid? Sure, but at least they're testing the market...

How can you blindly tear apart a family without first trying a more humane approach?

Councilman Charlie Brown, who supports the ban states 'pitbulls are prisoners of their own genetic code...

Well phuck me, I'm so happy that Denver has a certified scientist and behavioral specialist on its council. Good Grief!!

In South Carolina, Rottweilers, Chow Chows and Dobermans are banned in the cities of Columbia and Travelers Rest. Smithfield and North Salt Lake, Utah, have banned Shar-Peis.

I've found an amazing site that lists, by City and State the laws concerning AMPBT's and other breeds.

Breed Specific Legislation:  It's common sense among dog owners that BSL simply does not work.  However, we also know that, unfortunately, common sense isn't that common.  Do I say this because I own an American Pitbull Terrier and an American Staffordshire Terrier?  Absolutely not.  But I'm sure I've learned to think that way because of them. 

I stumbled across my Amstaff 5 years ago at the pound. Ignorant to the breed and even what they looked like, I couldn't resist her amazing smile.  And sure enough, she's turned out to be the greatest dog in the history of the world of dogs. 

In any event, it's a shame that our cities and towns are still run by bible thumping, God fearing conformists who know absolutely nothing about dogs and behavior.  Of course, nor do I... but I know enough not to make such blanket accusations. 

'Pitbulls' are not breed to be aggressive towards humans.  Humans are their handlers.  In dog fighting situations, it's humans that 'train' 'feed' and enter the rings with the dogs.  So even in the worst demonic situations, they are not genetically evil towards humans.

BSL affects dogs based on APPEARANCE ONLY. It has NOTHING to do with temperament. The alleged purpose of BSL is to increase public safety, but it can not do that because it completely overlooks temperament.  STOP BSL

Basically breed specific laws allow a City or State to pick and choose what dogs they want to ban.  So if you happen to be one of those ignorant people that think BSL works.. careful because your toy poodle may be next.
