Finally after all these years and accidents the DMV in California along with local law enforcement have had enough.  As of July 1st 2008, it will be illegal for all drivers to use a handheld wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle.  And the fine, $20!!!  

That's right.  In a town where it costs $20 bucks to park or wash your car, you'd think they can come up with some heftier fines?  Also, The law allows a driver to use a wireless telephone to make emergency calls to a law enforcement agency, a medical provider, the fire department, or other emergency services agency.  

"Agency"...yeah great, I can see it now,  "But officer, I just got a call from my agency, it was an emergency, my stand-in got hurt, so now I have to get back to the set ASAP."

Nobody likes getting pulled over, maybe you've been smoking dope in the car, so now along with the $20 ticket...you're going to get busted for weed.  (I'm just sayin').

So if you live in California, or you've just graduated and now you're driving like an idiot lost in LA, be aware, you're also going to get hit with a ticket.  And $20 a ticket ads up when you're working as a stand-in at the Pizza Kitchen.
