I was watching the hockey game last night when this shitty car commercial comes on. "It's the new generation of car" or whatever.

I blurted out, "I now know why I hate everything."

The minute a product comes out, it seizes to become hip, soulful, real, authentic, meaningful. It's dead before it begins. Nothing lasts.

This is not a new concept, Buddhists have known this for centuries. Objects and possessions quickly become outdated. Even faster now that we all have access to the same information.

With 6 billion people on this planet it's next to impossible to maintain an authentic thought, idea or plan.

So the minute a brand new car comes out with it's limited edition paint, 60 people on your block get one.

Trading cards. They are worth fortunes. But now there are so many that an Alex Rodriguez rookie card will never win you as much as a Wayne Greztky rookie card. Those days are dead.

Music. Nobody remembers what was hot last year. It all turns over so fast. Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe one day we will collectively realize, "hey, if everything is being over produced and the things I think are cool today will be out by next month then it doesn't matter what I buy, cause it won't mean a thing next month"

Anyone remember Marilyn Manson?
