It's not a new phenomenon. Alanis new about it years ago and made more money off of MP3's than she ever will selling her album's, concerts or merchandise... combined.

Metallica had a their knickers in a knot (and probably still do) over Napster and it's groundbreaking, industry changing software. But as Napster goes down the shitter and peer to peers popping up all over the place, it has proven difficult if not impossible to put Geenie back in his bottle.

Ain't it grand? Free Music. The way it should have been all along. Give the money to the nurses and teachers.

Anyway, After picking up this new kick ass computer with an internal burner, I have been having a blast ripping off all sorts of musical rarities. Sure I believe in supporting an artist. Sure I love reading the liner notes, the dedications, the special thank you's, guest musicians etc... but I also love saving a trillion dollars and making my own discs...

My own discs that hold up to 70 + minutes of music for 2$ compared to a 40 minute disc half of which sucks for 15$... it's a no-brainer.

But morally, is this wrong? I struggled with that question (cause I have such high morals) I struggled with the question until I paid over $200 for a pair of Peter Gabriel tickets. At that price, Mr. Gabriel should come to my house and cook me dinner.

Maybe that's why ticket prices are so high??? 'cause nobody is buying their music anymore.

Whatever the case, if I feel like I have supported a particular artist for years... bought their albums, seen their shows etc... I will gladly take what I can for free. 200$ for concert tickets...you bet your ass I'm going to steal everyone of his songs!!!
