North America's Obsession With Sex

To say we live in a retarded society is like saying, wrestling is fake. It's axiomatic. How backwards we have become? We shun the human body yet embrace guns and violence. No wonder we breed violent sex offenders.

We are taught to keep our urges and fantasies silent. We are taught to be ashamed of our perversion. So we bury them deep in the recess' of our mind until we snap and go postal.

A few years ago I was working with kids on a cruiseship. When the program was finished the kids had to leave the auditorium because an "R" rated movie was to start.

I reminded one of the parents who was taking her time getting her 8 year old son ready to leave.

Monkey: "Ma'am, in 5 minutes we are starting a movie. It's "R" rated and contains violence and coarse language. You might want to hurry it up"

Lady: "Does it have any nudity"

Monkey: "No"

Lady: "oh that's okay then. As long as there is no nudity."

Am I the only one who sees the problem with this? In Europe, land of nude beaches, nude TV commercials and under age drinking, children grow up with tits all around.

They've been drinking wine since they were 6 and Guinness at 15. By the time they are 21, they are pretty much used to seeing the female anatomy in all it's glory.

Sure, they never get sick of staring at them but at the same time they haven't been building an 18 year old urge to go out and grab a pair. In North America we dream about tits and sex. But we are taught shame and "control". So, our kids run around hiding their urges and feeling ashamed because they toss off 6 times a day.

We wonder why every year there is an astronomical reports of dates rapes on North American college campuses. Perhaps if we start teaching our children not to be ashamed of the human body we would have a lot less sex crime.
