The Chinese made Hannah Montana line of products that Disney owns, and Miley Cyrus represents, has been found to contain lead, the Center for  Environmental Health said yesterday.

The paint on five of 28 products tested by the federal agency, including a Girls Rock backpack and a Secret Star wallet, had lead content of 1,800 parts per million to 8,300 parts per million. The federal standard for lead in paint is 600 ppm.

High levels of lead can impair children’s learning ability and development and cause irreversible neurological damage as well as renal disease, cardiovascular effects, and reproductive toxicity. source
