ANAHEIM H.O.B - MARCH 23rd, 2007
Once again, I took all my drugs way too early.  When the ticket says, 8PM it means the main show starts at 10. And when it's standing room only, that 90 + minutes makes a big difference.

The Sadies opened up, which pissed me off because I arrived at 9 in hopes I would have missed the opening act.  You see now that I live in LA, I'm a bitch and I only leave my house when traffic isn't so bad.. which means leaving at the last possible minute.

The Sadies were great.  Very Pulp Fiction, Surfrider, bassline shtick.  But of course as anyone waiting for Das Hip would tell you, they played a bit too long.  The crowd however was pretty into 'em.

Speaking of crowd, a bit more gray hair out there now...and of course the random, obvious Toronto Maple Leaf jersey...and whilst waiting for the band to come on stage, about 50 or so phags broke into the National Anthem.  Gay.

On comes the band and chaos ensues.  I've run out of words to describe their performances.  Simply breath taking.  They are so phucking tight and once again Gord Downie...was, well, Gord Downie.

They played for 2 + hours, I think.  Opened with "In View", AND a big surprise was MR.SOUL (Neil Young) as one of their encores.  Nice job.  Long Time Running, Sherpa...were nice additions too.

This 'review' (and in fact, all SM reviews) isn't really intended to blow you away with gripping, metaphor filled; I read the thesaurus, wheel inventing commentary.  Nay, nay...this commentary is a plea to all the US and European kids who really love rock 'n' roll...this is my plea to you - check out one of Canada's frustratingly best kept secrets at a local venue nearest you.  I say 'frustratingly' because any Canadian reading this, understands the confusion towards their lack of popularity here in the South.

So if you want to see an absolutely mind bottling show, go to, THE HIP.com and pay the 30 or so bucks for a rock n' roll night of your life.  Truly.  Madly...Deeply.

No pics of HOB Anaheim...hopefully that'll change tonight at the El Rey.
EL REY, LOS ANGELES MARCH 24, 2007
Good show, 900 people, Sold Out.  World Container - great song live.  Other than that, no big surprises.  They did a punk number as one of their encores, it seems that they're adding a new cover each show. SCARED was as welcomed as always.   What else did we have... Fire in The Hole, Grace Too, Boots, 100th, Bobcaygeon.. Drop Off, Kids Don't Get It.. .the Mushrooms make it tough to remember.. so just check out their set lists here

Hung out after the show, business as ususal.  Thanx guys.  See you next time!!
