Foo Fighters: Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace Review

So I'm sitting here listening to the Foo's latest, Echoes...and I can't help but think, why the phuck didn't Springsteen's 'Magic' get nominated for a Grammy?

I love the Foo's, and their latest work is once again awesome, but not ground breaking.  We have the screaming, the acoustic, the piano...Dave makes sure to cover all sounds, and he certainly knows how to write a great pop song, but to ignore Springsteen who's Magic album, (his first in a long time with the E Street) which is covered with fresh new sounds and certainly worthy of a Grammy is not cool at all.

So yeah, Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace is great.  It's a tight, catchy, riffy, Taylor Hicks pounding success.  Songs of note, The Pretender, Statues, and Home.

The ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners is welcomed Led Zeppelin-ish Black Mountain Side acoustic number which pays homage to Virgina (Dave's home state) coal miners - as you may recall the last couple of years haven't been great for them.

Great melodies - despite their rugged exterior, they've never shied away from those tender moments which they've most definitely mastered.  If good rock and roll is your scene, it's certainly worth the download.
