Here's a flick worth checking out, especially if you've ever worked any kind of service job. While most movies out there are trying to be impressive to critics or manipulative for the paying public, this is a movie simply there to be real and funny.
Sure, like every mile-a-minute jokester, some of its jokes fall flat, but not hard enough to draw enough attention to themselves and take away a damn thing from the joke that comes next and kicks its ass out of your memory. Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris lead a practically flawless cast of comedically talented youngsters that bring to life "Shenanaginz," the bastard child of Chili's, Outback, TGIF's, and every other obnoxious chain you've faked your birthday at to score a free sundae and laugh at the stupid corporate birthday jingle they're required to sing. I'd say there's a coherent plot, but hey, why lie, and who needs one if the movie's genuinely entertaining enough to hold your attention and make you laugh out loud anyway? Hell, not this asshole critic. Just check it out, it's good for any occasion, whether it be a first date, second date, night out with the girls or guys, etc. On top of that, it's guaranteed a spot in the cult classics section of the video store in a few months, and it ain't gonna be kicked off the shelf for quite a while. In the tradition of "Clerks" and "Office Space," "Waiting" lives up to everything it's trying to be -- nothing but a few laughs that everybody needs.
