Most of our important life lessons are taught to us in grade school. A foundation is set for how we treat people and respect other's property and space.

"I'll be your best friend" - We are taught right away that even in grade 2 there are manipulative little liars who will do anything to get what you have.. even by promising you their friendship.

Of course if you're quick enough you'll learn the first time that "best friends" is based on material. But of course our insecurities tend to believe in "the hope of becoming popular" - so we let people trounce all over us hoping for a shot of saying "hello" to them tomorrow at recess.

"It Takes One To Know One" - By far the best defense a kid can can shout at a bully. (Other than; aren't your parents are cousins?)

But as we grow up we do our best to avoid using those "silly" sayings. We are mature now - there's no more rubber and glue bouncing off me and sticking on you - girls don't come from mars ... and Bubble Yum is not made from spider eggs.

However if you look back - you'll fast realize that those "childish expression" hold a wealth of truth. Still not sure about Bubble Yum.. but I am sure about "it takes on to know one."

You know that bastard in front of you.. the one driving for 10 minutes with their turn signal on.. the guy you're bitching at.. "idiot, turn off your signal." Well, chances are you've been that idiot.

We are very quick to point out someone else's flaws.. why is that? Because the very flaws that we are pointing out - are the very ones we posses. It's easy to identify with someone's short comings if we "suffer" from the same ones.

"Takes one to know one" has been replaced by the more mature, "You can't Con a Con."

If you find yourself talking with someone who goes on and on at length about somebody else's ethics or lack thereof.. chances are they have the same infliction.

So before you start throwing stones and rocks, step out of your glass house.
