Carmen Electra Ain’t No Push Over

All that at no hep C. I’m a little bummed right now. Just read this story about a kid named Cade Poulos who killed himself at some ass backwards school in Oklahoma. Let’s face it, most things are ass backwards in Oklahoma, but a young kid taking his own life at school, victim of alleged bullying? I mean, didn’t Pearl Jam sing about this sh*t 20 years ago. 20 f8cking years ago, and we’re still doing nothing about it.

I was bullied in high school. I was a f8cking smart mouth little kid who no doubt deserved a smack or two, but it was more than that. I used to get chased out of parties, school dances whatever group function, some drunk high school hero would start pushing my 100 lb skinny ass to the ground. In fact I had to change schools. Same thing happened at the new school, which tells me A) I never learned my lesson. B) A-holes are A-holes regardless of school, city or State. Anyway, I’m sure it was a combination of both.

Forward 20 years later. I meet one of “the bullies”. Now the memory is kinda hazy. I remember him, but I don’t remember exactly the things he had done but apparently, he had. We were at a bar when he came up to me, shook my hand and apologized. I was taken aback because as mentioned, I didn’t remember the crap he did, nor did I hold any contempt for the guy. Nonetheless, I was truly inspired. Not because it was me, or I finally got an apology I had been looking for all these years… No. It was because of the hope that the cycle of bullying can actually stop. The reason this guy came up to me was because he now has a son of his own, and the thought of anyone bullying him, would be more than any parent could bare.

So given this, why the f8ck is it still happening. It’s like cancer. We all know someone who has been affected by bullying. But unlike cancer, we can cure it. So why aren’t we?
