A buddy of mine won an Olympic medal for diving when he was 16 or 17.  Years later he became quite depressed.  Turns out depression among Olympic athletes in not uncommon.  I mean, you basically peak at a young age and after that it’s pretty tough to achieve the same rush.  Imagine at 16 conquering the world.  Performing for your country, literally in front of the entire world.  Now whilst Miley’s life is certainly not that of an Olympic athlete, nor are her accomplishments, the basic idea here is, like most kid stars, she’s peaked.  Her image was contrived by the Studios and now at 19 she’s stuck in the netherworld and really won’t be doing much else with the rest of her life but spending her money and wearing stupid outfits.  I’m sure there’s gonna be a playboy offer in there somewhere…
